In a surprising turn, Riese & Muller unveiled their latest innovation through a newsletter: heated seats for their e-bikes. Introducing the Essenza+ Heating Tech saddle, a collaboration with the Italian brand Selle Royal, brings a novel comfort feature to the winter cycling scene.
Selle Royal has integrated an ultra-thin heating element, drawing inspiration from the Essenza Moderate saddle for rapid and effective warmth distribution. The heated saddle boasts a 100% waterproof design, ensuring consistent performance regardless of the weather conditions.

Although we haven't personally tried out the saddle, given our preference for the Brooks B17 during our e-bike journey across the United States using a R&M Supercharger, this new offering appears promising. It pledges to deliver sustained warmth and comfort throughout rides, all the while ensuring that the e-bike's battery, to which it connects, is minimally impacted.

The mere fact that Riese & Muller is making this saddle available as an accessory speaks volumes about its durability and high quality, aligning with the brand's reputation for excellence in the e-bike industry.
The heated saddle is an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) product. This means that the saddle is specifically designed and produced to be integrated directly into e-bikes as an original part of the bike and is not sold as an after-market product. If you want to sit warm, you will have to buy a new Riese & Muller e-bike.
